Transatlantic Partner Promotions for Eva-Maria Mayer and Caroline Pennington de Rodríguez Sánchez

To our clients, friends and wider network — thank you for your continued support throughout 2025. As the year draws to a close, we’re pleased to share some good news as we look ahead to 2026.

From January 1st 2026, Senior Associates Eva-Maria Mayer of New York and Caroline Pennington de Rodríguez Sánchez of London will be promoted to Partner.

Many of you will already know Eva and Caroline through your work with the firm. Their promotions recognise not only the quality of their legal work, but also the roles they play in shaping how we work — with clients, across teams, and as a business.

Based in New York, Eva has been with the firm since its earliest days, joining straight out of law school as the firm’s first hire beyond the founding partners, Luke and Ed, and has played a central role in its growth and development to date. Her practice is focused on shipping and international trade, advising clients across litigation, arbitration, regulatory and transactional matters in the maritime, commodities and transportation sectors.

Eva has extensive experience in U.S. federal and state litigation and arbitration, acting before bodies including the ICC, SMA, JAMS and LMAA, and regularly advises on debt recovery, enforcement and cross-border regulatory issues. She is trusted by clients for her ability to navigate complex, multi-jurisdictional disputes and has helped define the firm’s approach to sophisticated, cross-border shipping and trade work.

Caroline joined the firm nearly three years ago after nine years practising in a leading City shipping and commodities team, bringing with her deep sector experience and an end-to-end commodities practice. Her legal expertise covers all main commodity classes, and she acts in matters ranging from drafting sale and purchase agreements and charterparties, to representing clients in trade and institutional arbitration proceedings.

Caroline is valued by clients for her depth of knowledge, strategic judgement and ability to deliver commercial results with a straight bat under pressure.

Alongside their legal practices, Eva and Caroline are both closely involved in shaping the firm’s growth, strategy and brand, and developing our people organically. Both are highly representative of the firm’s culture and collaborative values and proudly reflect the firm’s positioning.

We wish you all a very happy holiday period, and New Year and we look forward to working with you in 2026.
