SEMINAR DETAILS:

Our partners and associates will share insights drawn from their international practice covering the following topics:

FZ specialise in handling matters with a US and English law element or cross over. The parties often come unstuck on disclosure, discovery and how to handle settlement negotiations under confidential cover in each jurisdiction or where a matter is before courts and tribunals in both jurisdictions to differing degrees. Ed Floyd and Joe Gosden walk through the headlines and pitfalls.

The LNG shipping space has seen an increasing number of market participants in recent years.  More market participants means more parties looking to extract maximum contractual value out of their shipping arrangements.  A consequence of this has been a rise in performance claims under LNG charterparties.  These are often large claims, spanning multiple voyages over a number of years. Calum and Karen have acted for a number of market participants on these claims, and will discuss the key issues in analysing performance and compliance with speed, consumption, boil off and reliq warranties.

  • LNG Charterparties – provisions and disputes relating to boil-off and heel with Damon Thompson (Partner – London) & Lucy Noble (Associate – London / Sydney)

FZ has extensive and genuine experience of the LNG industry and how it has changed over the last 15 years. In this presentation, Damon and Lucy will analyse how LNG charterparties have evolved to include (untested) provisions in relation to LNG-specific concepts such as heel and boil-off. They will draw on their own experience of drafting provisions and handling claims to demonstrate the risks and how they can be mitigated.
