Luke will be attending and speaking a the 2nd Annual IBA Asset Recovery Conference The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Tackling and conquering impediments to asset recovery’.

Luke will be joining the panel for Session two: Tracing, preserving and recovering unique and difficult classes of assets: spotlight on maritime issues in asset recovery

This panel will discuss and explore:

  • how to trace, arrest and enforce against vessels and cargo;
  • the legal nature of vessels and cargo as movable property;
  • issues around establishing ownership;
  • dealing with pledges and mortgages; and
  • the relevance of international conventions in the asset recovery process.
