Captain Layesh Premraj is a Master Mariner and Trainee Solicitor based in our London Office.

With 18 years of experience navigating commercial sea-going vessels, including four years in command, Layesh brings a wealth of practical maritime knowledge to the legal realm.

Layesh commenced his career at a major shipping company obtaining a Diploma in Maritime Studies from the Singapore Maritime Academy with a dual qualification in both deck and engine departments. This proficiency enabled him to work as a Marine Engineer in the initial years of his career as well.

His sea career has been predominantly on Container Carriers however, his knowledge extends beyond a singular focus, encompassing diverse vessel types, including Tankers, Bulk and LNG Carriers.

In addition to his hands-on maritime expertise, Layesh holds a LLM in International Maritime Law (Distinction) from Swansea University.

Layesh works in English (fluent), and is also fluent in Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam.
