Edward W. Floyd

In practicing law, I strive to thoroughly understand the client’s objectives for each matter and then to develop and implement an effective strategy for achieving those aims. My approach reflects my background of twenty-plus years of active and reserve military service. I employ a planning process, assertively implement the resulting plan, and always remain cognizant of the fact that the plan may need to change. What I enjoy most about that process is delivering successful results for the client.

Career

Ed Floyd has 14 years of legal experience. Before the launch of our firm in 2017, Ed was a partner focused on maritime and international commodities trading law at a mid-sized NY firm, and before that, he practiced with a large, international firm. Ed’s maritime and trade practice is complemented by his own professional experience with logistical operations. He is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and subsequently served as an officer in the US Marine Corps (5+ years active duty, 15+ in the Reserves). As such, he has spent time at sea, participated in the loading of heavy equipment onto vessels, and coordinated complex logistical operations.

Luke F. Zadkovich

I practise law as the pursuit of solutions. Clients understandably want clear answers to complicated problems. Often that requires creative thinking, substantively and procedurally. The stimulating part for me is working through those challenges, coming up with possible solutions and delivering on our strategies. In my experience, the lawyer must create a rock-solid relationship of trust and confidence with clients, through open communication, dedication and excellent performance, to ensure this problem-solving process is successful.

Career

Luke Zadkovich has been working in law for 17 years. Before our launch, Luke spent seven years as an English solicitor in the International Trade and Energy Group of a leading international shipping law firm in London, handling a full range of commodities trading and shipping matters. Most recently, Luke was a senior claims executive at a major IG P&I and FDD Club based in the US office, having spent two and a half years there, with secondments to the Club’s head office in London and to a leading Canadian shipowner. Prior to these roles, Luke worked for six and a half years in Australian law firms (insurance, profin lines, construction, personal injury and employment).
