ZFZ Support EnBW in Closing LNG SPAs with Venture Global
Our team comprising LNG expert Damon Thompson along with Zach Barger from the US office team and Andriy Shalennyy is proud to have supported EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG in its recent negotiations with Venture Global LNG in relation to two Sales and Purchase Agreements for 1.5 MTPA of LNG from Venture Global’s Plaquemines and CP2 facilities.
The SPAs are for 20-year periods with commercial start date expected in 2026. The SPAs are the first for Venture Global with German off-takers and represent a significant stage in EnBW’s development of its LNG activities. We are excited to be involved in this deal which enables EnBW to diversify its sources of gas supply and increase stability in its supply to the region in the context of the current volatile European (and global) gas market.
The team was able to deliver within a tight timeframe to get the SPA over the line, combining U.S. law and LNG expertise, resulting in a very pleased client appreciating the “excellent legal services” provided.
